Manipulation / Physiotherapy //

Clarendon Clinic has provided Manipulation and Physiotherapy in Swinton, Manchester for over 40 years.

Physiotherapy recognises that much of the pain and disability we suffer stems from abnormalities in our body’s structure and function.

Physiotherapists diagnose and treat problems with muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints to help the body’s natural healing ability.

Treatment involves gentle, manual techniques – easing pain, reducing swelling and improving mobility. Often, this involves manipulation which can result in an audible‘crack’ which is simply the sound of gas bubbles popping in the fluid of the joints.

Physiotherapy does not involve the use of drugs or surgery.

Conditions for Physiotherapy

LOWER BACK PAIN

Most back pains result from mechanical disturbances of the spine – postural strains, joint derangement and spinal disc injuries. Physiotherapy, with its comprehensive approach to healthcare, is a particularly successful approach to treatment

WOMEN

Many women are working mothers and combining both aspects of their lives can give rise to problems from the perennial headache to debilitating muscular-skeletal disorders. Many headaches originate from stiffness and tension in the neck and physiotherapy in Swinton, Manchester can often bring relief. Pregnancy can put a strain on the whole spine and physiotherapy can help the body adapt to the many changes it experiences.

IN THE FORTIES

Many patients are losing fitness at this stage in their lives and are more prone to injury. Physiotherapists consider the whole person, examining posture and the strength and flexibility of muscles, ligaments and tendons. Treatment is designed to alleviate current problems and to help prevent recurrences.

Treatment

Our hands-on techniques will help to relieve your pain and get you moving. We work on:

  • Muscles

  • Joints

  • Ligaments and Tendons

  • Nerves

  • Advice and exercise to regain and maintain your health.

We look at the whole body not just the part that hurts. the body is interconnected, so an imbalance in one area can affect another.

We also consider how your lifestyle affects your pain, including your occupation, sports, hobbies, how you sleep and stress levels. We aim to build a picture of you as a whole person, not just addressing the symptoms.

By treating this way, we address the root cause of your pain. We will also give you advice of how to prevent your pain from returning.

We allow time during your consultation to listen to your problems and concerns. Followed by a thorough examination, our therapists will start treatment, to get to the root cause of your problem.

We will help you understand your symptoms and provide a clear action plan of how we are going to help you recover.

How we work:
