Counselling //

At the Clarendon Clinic counselling is provided by Tracy Mcadden and Julie Tinning. Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues.

Tracy Mcadden provides a one to one counselling in Swinton, Manchester, offering both person-centred counselling and/or cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). She can offer home visits for those unable to access the counselling centre which is based at the Clarendon Clinic, Swinton, Manchester.

Tracy has extensive experience in working in the mental health field, having provided both long-term and short-term therapy to individuals in various different organisations including the NHS and Women’s Aid. Tracy takes a flexible approach to counselling clients, working to individual need and preference and is happy to accomodate these if beneficial to clients.

Julie Tinning practices an intergrative method of counselling based on the person-centred, non-judgemental approach. This therapeautic model allows you to discover your own way to a more contented and satisfying life. Julie Tinningis a member of the BACP and work within the Ethical Framework. This includes on-going Professional and Personal Developement. Julie Tinning attends therapy workshops and courses and attends regular supervision.

Tracy Mcadden

Qualifications & Experience

Tracy has a BSc(honours) in Psychology, a national diploma in counselling, a diploma in cognitive-behavioural therapy and a diploma in Hypno-psychotherapy. She has experience in working with many different issues from depression, stress, and anxiety to phobias, compulsions, and abuse of all descriptions.


Tracy can also offer relaxation sessions for anyone interested in learning self-relaxation techniques. She has worked with the NHS with clients suffering mild to moderate mental health issues including depression and anxiety, phobias and OCD, addictions, and loss, and continues to work with Women’s Aid with clients suffering some form of abuse and Homestart Salford with parents suffering from depression.

Initial consultation is £40 for CBT / counselling in Swinton, Manchester. Subsequent sessions are also charged at £40 per counselling hour (50 minutes), payable one week in advance.

I have worked in Private Practice for several years, offering clients the ability to work together in a nuturing relationship, which I believe is one of the mainstays of the therapeautic process.

I am on the Management team of a local Counselling Charity and offer my counselling services on a voluntary basis.

I have worked as a Mentor in a local Secondary School, helping students to set their own goals and work towards achieving them.
